The South Worcestershire Councils (SWC) of Malvern Hills District, Worcester City and Wychavon District adopted a joint local plan, known as the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP), in February 2016.
The SWDP contains policies to ensure good quality design in new buildings, extensions, and the public realm which are set out in policy SWDP 21 and the SWC are committed to producing jointly guidance on the implementation of SWDP 21. This guidance will be in the form of a supplementary planning document covering each council area.
The SWC were therefore assessing what the South Worcestershire Design Guide SPD should contain, in terms of the level and range of advice and detailed design guidance. We therefore produced a brief scoping paper (leaflet), setting out the policy background and some suggestions of what the SPD should cover. This was an early stage, informal consultation, and any responses received were considered so that a more detailed draft SPD could be produced and officially consulted upon in June 2017.
The consultation concluded at 5pm on Monday 27 March 2017.
