Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) (Now closed)

Notice of early consultation

The three South Worcestershire Councils of Malvern Hills District, Worcester City and Wychavon District are preparing a joint Local Plan, known as the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP).

The SWDP contains proposed new policies for the provision of affordable housing. The three councils are committed to producing guidance on how the affordable housing policies should be interpreted, once the SWDP is adopted. This guidance will be in the form of a supplementary planning document for each council area, although the work is being progressed jointly.

The three councils are therefore assessing what the SPD should contain, in terms of the level and range of advice and details of procedures for the delivery of affordable housing. We have therefore produced a four page scoping paper (leaflet), setting out the background to and the definition of affordable housing, and some suggestions of what the SPD should cover. This is an early stage, informal consultation, and any responses received will be considered so that a more detailed SPD can be produced and officially consulted upon at a later date.

The Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document consultation concluded at 9:00 am on 30 March 2015.
