Consultations

In December 2012, all three Councils approved the SWDP Proposed Submission Document for the six week period of public consultation that commences on Friday 11 January 2013 and concludes at 5.00pm on Friday 22 February 2013. This is the first stage of the statutory submission process to the Secretary of State and subsequent public inquiry in the summer of 2013. The consultation is focused on the legal compliance and soundness of the SWDP and consists of:

a)  The SWDP Proposed Submission document and accompanying response form (word doc | on-line).
b)  The Test of Soundness and Legal Compliance as set out in the guidance notes.
c)  Supporting information, evidence base and the proposals map.

All of the documents and supporting information are available electronically from this website. Hard copies of the draft Plan are available for inspection at local libraries and Customer Contact Centres across the three Councils. Small supplies of the response form are also available from these locations. Additional hard copies of these documents can be obtained on request.  Please note there will be a discretionary charge of £30 (+£2.50 p&p) where we are requested  to produce and send a copy of the document. Please contact us should you wish to make use of this service. Please also note that any representations submitted after the 22 February 2013 will not be eligible for consideration.

Although you may have made previous representations to the process to date, e.g. to the Preferred Options should you wish to have a chance to appear at the public inquiry (or Examination in Public as it is known) in the summer of 2013 it is essential that you make a response (based on the Tests of Legal Compliance and/or Soundness) at this stage. Please note, however, that participation at the public inquiry is at the discretion of the Inspector.

Representations can be either made on-line via the consultation portal, on a hard copy of the response form, by e-mail to contact@swdevelopmentplan.org or in writing to:
